If you like shovels for sandals buy these! They catch everything under your foot (like sand and little pebbles at the beach) and because of the snug fit you can't get the stuff out! However the support is very good and I like the fit. Durability - OK. The cork base wears fairly quickly compared to some sandals. They do prevent stink buildup as well, unlike cheap sandals.

These particular Birkenstocks were for my granddaughter, Elizabeth, because she loves wearing them.
