I love these Birkenstocks now, but there was a period of adjustment due to the larger toe thong. I did get some blisters initially which almost made wearing the Birks unbearable, but now they fit like a glove. I never want to take them off! Some background information - my shoe size is an 8 1/2. I purchased size 39 which corresponds to the U.S. 8 - 8 1/2. When putting on the Birks for the first time, it is important to make sure to undo the straps, place your heel in the heel bed, and then tighten the straps accordingly. I found that if I tightened the straps it didn't allow my foot to slide around as much. At first I had them looser and I think that is what really ended up causing the blisters in between my toes.

I am a faithful birks girl because I have plantar fasciitis and can only wear birks. You can’t go wrong with these! The oiled brown leather birks with brassy gold buckles are so perfect for every wardrobe! They go with absolutely everything! Cute enough to wear to work. I’m a size 8.5-9 and the 39 fit perfectly! This little bag is a great quality, heavy canvas. I was quite surprised with it when it arrived. I did not have the stitching issues that another person had - mine is well made and everything seems secure. This bag has lots of places to store things and is a great size for a tablet or an ipad. I can carry everything that I need with me, including a bottled water, and not feel over or under loaded.

I’ve been wearing Birkenstock’s for years. They work really well for me especially because I had very bad foot and back problems from standing on my feet for hours for work. I stopped wearing them for a few years and started trying other brands but there is no comparison. These have the best support and are super cute!

Excellent product - looks and feels very nice in the licorice color. The leather is supple and does not cut into my skin. Not too shiny but shiny enough to look attractive. My daughter says I bought the wrong size and advised me to go smaller however I used the size chart provided and they appear to fit my arch nicely. We are both size 6.5 in women's shoes and she wears a 35 where I purchased a 37. I'm not a connoisseur of this brand but feel comfortable keeping the 37s for myself.
